March 2nd is the deadline for new and returning community college students to apply for a Cal Grant for the 2015-16 academic year. Cal Grants can provide students attending a California community college with up to $1,473 a year to help pay for college-related expenses, such as fees, books, supplies and sometimes even rent.

To apply for a Cal Grant, students need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit a verified Cal Grant GPA by the March 2nd deadline. For more information and to apply, visit www.calgrants.org.
