About the Joint Transfer Program

Complete your associate and bachelor's degrees in only 120 units.

An Associate Degree for Transfer is a special degree offered through the California Community Colleges that gives you the opportunity to save time and money by guaranteeing you a saved spot at CSU, UC, Historically Black Colleges or Universities (HBCU), Western Governors University or participating non-profit, private colleges in California (member institutions of AICCU). The joint transfer program makes it easier for students like you to transfer between a California community college and the participating institutions. With this degree, you have the opportunity to complete two degrees with only 120 units if you apply and are admitted into a similar degree program to earn your bachelor’s degree.

Through the program, when you complete an Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T) or an Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T), you will be given a special GPA advantage when applying to impacted campuses or majors.

The best part of the deal? When you earn an AA-T or AS-T degree, you’ll enter your four-year college or university with junior standing. When you are admitted to a program that has been deemed similar, you will, in most cases, require only 60 more semester units (or 90 quarter units) to complete a bachelor's degree.

This website is designed to explain the guarantee and help you identify an AA-T or AS-T that might be right for you. To get started on your AA-T or AS-T, or for more information, check out a community college website, or visit a counseling office to learn about how the joint transfer program can help you achieve your education goals.
